Floral Park is, by a wide margin, the best-preserved historic neighbourhood in the county — Tudor Revival, Spanish Colonial, Craftsman and Mediterranean houses built mostly between 1920 and 1940, many with their original material still in place. French Park and Park Santiago are smaller but the same era and the same rules.
What that means in practice: no wet mop on original hardwood, because water in the seams swells boards permanently and lifts a finish that is close to a century old.
